The Students Union Government (SUG) of Mainland Business School has commenced the sale of nomination forms for students interested in contesting elective positions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The announcement was made by the institution’s Election Committee Board, which disclosed that the sale of forms began on May 11, 2026, and will close on May 16, 2026.
According to the committee, nomination forms are available for several positions, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Director of Socials, Director of Welfare, Director of Sports, Director of Information, Auditor General, Senate, and Judiciary positions.
The presidential nomination form is pegged at ₦10,000, while the Vice President form costs ₦7,000. Other positions range between ₦3,000 and ₦5,000.
The Election Committee stated that only bona fide students of the institution who are Nigerian citizens and meet the constitutional requirements of the SUG are eligible to contest.
The committee further noted that the positions of President and Vice President are exclusively reserved for 300-level students, while Year One students are not eligible to participate in the forthcoming election.
Completed nomination forms are expected to be submitted to the Election Committee Board on or before May 18, 2026, alongside all required documents, warning that late submissions will not be entertained due to time constraints.
The committee also emphasized that the purchase of nomination forms does not automatically guarantee clearance to contest, as all aspirants will undergo a screening process in line with the electoral guidelines.
Payments for the forms are to be made through the designated account provided by the committee.
