Youth leaders from Idundu and Ayananse communities have pledged their full support to the 2026/2027 Students’ Union Government (SUG) administration of Mainland Business School (MBS), led by the newly inaugurated SUG President, Comrade Margaret Ben Asuquo.
The declaration of support came during an engagement with the student leadership, where prominent youth leaders, Prince Okon Nyong Okon of Idundu community and Prince Umoh Ukpong of Ayaghanse community, assured the SUG leadership of their commitment to maintaining peace, security, and cooperation between students and host communities.
Speaking during the interaction, the youth leaders described the emergence of Comrade Margaret Ben Asuquo as a new chapter for student leadership in the institution, noting that her administration deserves collective support to succeed.
They stressed the need for unity and collaboration among students, community leaders, and school authorities to create a peaceful academic environment conducive for learning and development.
Earlier, the SUG President, Comrade Margaret Ben Asuquo, had identified security as one of the greatest challenges confronting her administration. She appealed to stakeholders, youth leaders, and members of the host communities to support efforts aimed at protecting students and ensuring stability within and around the institution.
According to her, insecurity remains a serious concern affecting students’ welfare and academic activities, adding that her administration is determined to prioritize students’ safety while promoting peace and mutual understanding with neighboring communities.
Responding to her appeal, Prince Okon Nyong Okon and Prince Umoh Ukpong assured the student body that the youths of Idundu and Ayaghanse communities would continue to work closely with the SUG leadership to strengthen security and sustain harmony within the school environment.
The development has been widely welcomed by students, who described the partnership as a positive step toward addressing security concerns and fostering stronger community relations at Mainland Business School.
