The Rector of Mainland Business School, Akpabuyo, Cross River State, Dr Ezekiel Aniekan, has urged students of the institution to embrace volunteerism. He made the call last week during Entrepreneurship (EEG 216) class.
Before buttressing the importance of volunteerism, he asked the class, “When you seek employment, and you’re asked for years of experience when you haven’t worked, how do you deal with this?”
“You get experience by volunteerism,” he revealed, asserting that “Sometimes you do it because of the future opportunity, not the immediate.”
He revealed that he currently lectures in a private tertiary institution (name not given), free “They said they cannot pay me, and I volunteered because of the future benefit, I know what I’m looking for.”
Dr Ezekiel further added that one can boost their CV by volunteering. He took students through his X profile to demonstrate the importance of social media.
